What is CHEX?
CHEX is a vegan certified alternative to artisan cheese. It is crafted using traditional techniques with organic plant-based ingredients. CHEX is free from: Soy, Gluten, Lactose and dairy.
What is the product shelf-life?
Ideally, all our products have a shelf life between 8-12 days in a fridge. Our use by date will typically be a minimum of 8 days from date of delivery.
What allergens should I be aware of?
All of our products are allergen free. Our entire product line is 100% free from: lactose, dairy, nuts, soy and gluten. However, we are yet to apply for gluten-free certification. As soon as we have - and subject to approval - we will include the certification on our product labels and communicate this to you on our website and social channels.
Please refer to the full ingredient list and allergen information provided on the individual product pages to verify all allergens or potential allergens associated with each product.

Is CHEX safe to consume if pregnant?
Our chex is pasteurised meaning it is treated with heat during manufacture to eliminate harmful bacteria.
We also carry out scheduled listeria swabbing to ensure our production unit is listeria-free.
We would advise caution for anyone pregnant to check with their Doctor.
Despite offering a dairy-free alternative to cheese, if you’re pregnant, we recommend you follow general medical guidelines as it pertains to dairy cheese when considering whether to consume our products. These guidelines advise to avoid consuming:
- mould-ripened cheeses with a white coating (unless cooked until steaming hot)
- blue cheeses (unless cooked until steaming hot)

Do you offer refunds & exchanges?
If you suffer a delay of more than 2 days which is subject to factors within our area of responsibility (see Delivery: Terms and Conditions), we will make ourselves readily available to offer a full refund or arrange a new delivery date.
We will accommodate a new date and time that is convenient for you.
However, if there is a delay in performing, or failing to perform, our delivery obligations under a given delivery period due to a Force Majeure Event (i.e. events beyond our control), we will not be held liable for failure to deliver the order as requested and unfortunately a refund will not be available.
If something doesn’t look right, please do not hesitate to reach out to us on hello@plantgen.info. This pertains to a defect or diminished quality of the product that is apparent on normal visual inspection despite following packaging instructions as described on the product label or there is a mistake regarding your order.
You will normally receive a request from us to provide proof of delivery to ensure that the defect occurred within 7 days of delivery. We may also request for you to provide us with images of the defective or diminished product to verify the spoiled goods or our mistake regarding your order.
If we judge the above criteria to have been met, we apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may have caused. We will then look to investigate the cause together with our delivery partners in order to prevent a similar problem arising again in the future.
You will be entitled to either exchange the item or return it and receive a full refund.
Do you offer shipping outside the UK?
Currently, our products are not available to customers looking to make an order outside the U.K - however, we endeavour to tackle this initiative soon.
Since Brexit, shipping to the EU has become cost prohibitive - primarily due to custom tariffs, duties, and the need to get our products to you promptly whilst still chilled within a 48 hour window in order to preserve the integrity of the product. We are however committed to finding viable solutions to overcome these barriers at the earliest possible time.
